His work spans music, sports, and entertainment, pioneering cutting-edge virtual reality broadcasts and setting new standards for live digital engagement.
In the sports arena, Danny partnered with the NBA to become the first professional sports league to offer a regular schedule of live games in virtual reality. Overseeing 100 live NBA games broadcast in VR, he delivered unparalleled courtside experiences featuring multiple camera angles, dedicated announcers, and real-time graphics. This groundbreaking work earned him a coveted Emmy nomination for Best Alternative Sports Coverage, cementing his leadership in delivering premium live VR sports content and redefining fan engagement.
In collaboration with Live Nation and Citi, Danny also launched the groundbreaking “Backstage with Citi” initiative, extending their successful program into a series of up to 10 live VR concerts. Fans enjoy immersive experiences of top-tier artists performing live, along with exclusive “backstage” access as artists prepare to take the stage. Accessible through the Live Nation Channel on the NextVR app, this series offers a unique perspective into the world of live music, making concerts more personal and engaging than ever.
Danny also brought the WWE Universe its first-ever WrestleMania in VR. Partnering with WWE in 2018, he created a unique way for fans to experience WrestleMania 34, providing free, immersive access of select moments that could be experienced in Virtual Reality. This innovative collaboration allowed fans to feel like they were part of the action, expanding WWE’s footprint in digital engagement.
In addition, he teamed up with the NHL and Disney Streaming Services to deliver virtual reality highlights of the 2019 Stanley Cup Final between the Boston Bruins and St. Louis Blues where, fans could relive the most intense moments with highlights enhanced by a groundbreaking “Goalie Experience” viewpoint. This innovative feature placed right behind the goal, allowing them to experience the speed, intensity, and excitement of the game as if they were on the ice.
While Head of Sports at Twitter and Chairman of the Global TV Strategy, he also played a significant role in Twitter’s groundbreaking partnership with the NFL, enabling live-streaming of Thursday Night Football games worldwide. This collaboration brought NFL action to an unprecedented number of platforms, integrating live sports with real-time social engagement. The initiative expanded the NFL’s global reach and highlighted Danny’s ability to transform the fan experience by connecting technology, content, and community in innovative ways.
In the metaverse space, Danny spearheaded SoundWaves: A Metaverse Music Concert, a virtual concert experience at SXSW 2023. Partnering with YOOM, Active Theory, and Dreamwave, the event featured volumetric video performances from 16 music artists, including Paul Oakenfold and The Teriyaki Boyz, captured using bleeding-edge technology from YOOM.COM. The event earned the 2023 SXSW Audience Award, cementing its place as a transformative moment in the evolution of digital music experiences.
Beyond virtual events, Danny was the Executive Producer of the 2019 immersive film Homeless: A Los Angeles Story, a multifaceted exploration of the homelessness epidemic in Los Angeles. The film, which combined powerful storytelling with innovative immersive techniques, had its world premiere at the 57th New York Film Festival, where it was lauded for its poignant narrative and creative approach. Earlier in his career, he spent 5 years as a Senior Producer for the globally renowned news and current affairs TV program 60 Minutes Australia. During this time, he honed his skills in high-impact storytelling, investigative journalism, and producing compelling content that resonated with global audiences.
Today, through Galvanized, he collaborates with a team of filmmakers, game developers, and experience designers to create content across diverse immersive platforms—including PC, console, mobile, and location-based experiences. Together, they push the boundaries of new media, delivering unforgettable experiences that connect fans to the moments they love most.
